LYNCHBURG, VA – Freshman Benjamin Lewis had a pair of top-10 finishes and sophomore Matt Reimann had a 4th place finish and a personal best in the 5K to lead the Nazareth College Men's Track and Field team at the outdoor season opener at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational.
Lewis clocked a 23.09 to take 9th in the 200 meter race and then ran a 51.28 to take 9th place in the 400.
Reimann was fourth in the 5K invitational race as he shaved 32 seconds off his personal best with a time of 15:28.34.
Junior Mike Welch was 8th in the 200 (22.88) and 11th in the 400 (51.41).
A trio of runners also finished well in the 5K as freshman Cade Eells was 12th, senior Jake Suddaby was 15th and sophomore Ethan Glashauser was 16th in the invitational race.
Junior Connor McCauslin was 10th in both the 100 meters and 100 meter hurdles with times of 11.98 and 15.62 respectively. Fellow junior Kaleb Luton was 8th in the hurdles (15.42) while freshman Kyle Reid was 7th in the high jump (1.78) and 11th in the triple jump (11.64).
Junior Nathan Bowers finished 12th in the 1500 (4:08.86) while senior Christopher Perez took 15th in the hammer throw (36.89) and 23rd in the shot put (10.31).
Nazareth will compete next weekend in the Geneseo Early Season Invitational.
