BROCKPORT, NY – Senior Josh Pomerleau broke the school record in the pole vault and junior Kaleb Luton set the school standard in the long jump to lead the Nazareth College Men's Track and Field team to a fifth place team finish at the Brockport Invitational Saturday.
Geneseo recorded the top team score with a 129 points followed by Rochester (125.5), Cortland (119), Brockport (108) and Nazareth with 51 points. St. John Fisher was sixth with 40.5 points.
Luton finished fourth in the long jump and finished with a 6.76-meter (22' 2 ¼") leap to break the school record. He also finished second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.33) and was fourth in the high jump as he cleared 1.86 meters (6' 1 ¼).
Pomerleau was second in the pole vault and set the school record as he cleared the 4.40-meter (14' 5 ¼") height.
The 4x400 relay also placed second as junior Dwight Bolton, junior Nathan Bowers, freshman Ethan Kenyon and freshman Cade Eells clocked a 3:49.36.
Bowers added an 8th place finish in the mile as he crossed the line in 4:30.44 while classmate Nathan McNally (4:41.20) was 11th and sophomore Ethan Glashauser (4:42.28) was 12th.
Junior Connor McCauslin was sixth in the hurdles in 8.90 seconds and seventh in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.31.
Freshman Kyle Reid was sixth in the high jump (1.81 meters (5'11 ¼") and junior Arthur DeVasto was seventh (1.71 (5' 7 ¼").
Additional top finishers included freshman Benjamin Lewis (23.26 – 7th place) in the 200, junior Mike Welch (23.36 – 10th place) in the 200, senior Patrick Healy (2:04.90 – 12th) in the 800.
Senior Christopher Perez was sixth in the weight throw (14.40 meters (47' 3")) and fellow senior Matthew Johnson was eighth in the long jump with a leap of 6.28 meters (20' 7 ¼").
Nazareth will host the Conference Challenge Cup and Multi event next weekend in the Golisano Training Center.
