ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Sophomore
Jonathan Park came off the bench to record game highs in points (22) and rebounds (9) Saturday as host Nazareth defeated Alfred State in a non-conference men's basketball game, 80-55.

Kevin Underwood (10) also scored in doubles figures for the Golden Flyers, who led 46-22 at halftime and we never seriously challenged in the second half.
Park's 22 points also were a career high as he made 10 of 13 shots from the field and 2 of 2 free throws. He also had a pair of blocked shots. Through eight games, Park is shooting a sizzling 67.8 percent (40-for-59) from the field to lead the Empire 8.
Park scored 10 of his points and Stenglein scored eight in the first half as Nazareth forged ahead.
Stephen Gabel added all seven of his points and Underwood had six more as Nazareth built an insurmountable advantage through the first 20 minutes.
Nazareth was able to substitute freely in the second half as the lead continued to grow. Nazareth shot well overall in hitting 32 of 59 shots (54.2 percent). The Golden Flyers also went 10-of-16 from the free throw line.
Nazareth is off until Jan. 3-4 when the Golden Flyers compete in a tournament at Elizabethtown, Pa. Nazareth plays St. Mary's of Maryland on Jan. 3 at 6 p.m. Penn State Harrisburg plays Elizabethtown in the second game. Saturday's games are at 1 and 3 p.m.
