Communication and Media major...  son of Steve and Lisa Gabel, Victor, N.Y... returning for his fifth season, Gabel decided to exercise an extra season of eligibility awarded by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic... Gabel started all 12 games for the Golden Flyers during the pandemic-shortened 2021 season and led the team in scoring at 16.3 points per game and was second in rebounding at 6.4 per game... also led the team with 37 assists (3.1 per game)... went 74-for-150 (.493) from the field with 16 three-pointers... scored in double figures nine times with a season-best of 30 points in a double overtime win at Russell Sage on 3/19/21... posted a pair of double-doubles (points-rebounds) with a career-best 14 rebounds against Houghton 3/12/21... named as a first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star for the second year in a row... also represented the Golden Flyers on the E8 all-tournament team as Nazareth advanced to the semifinals... was the senior recipient of the Jeff Van Gundy Award that recognizes passion, work ethic and commitment to Nazareth athletics.

2019-20: Gabel was spectacular for the Golden Flyers in 2019-20 as he played in all 27 games, including 26 as a starting forward... led the team in scoring at 16.1 points per game and was second in rebounding at 6.8 per game... shot 49.4 percent from the field (159-for-322), including 45 percent (50-for-111) from three-point range... earned first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors and named Rochester Area Colleges Player of the Year by the United States Basketball Writers of America... twice honored as E8 Player of the Week -- for 1/13/20 and 2/17/20... named to E8 All-Tournament team after helping the Golden Flyers to a runner-up finish... named to all-tournament team for inaugural Mike Daley Invitational last November as Nazareth defeated Hunter and Fredonia to claim the team title... scored in double digits in 25 games with 20 points or more eight times... also made the all-tournament team for the Marks Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout... scored a career-best 31 points, going 12-for-16 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line in a 91-72 win at Cazenovia on 1/7/20...  grabbed 12 rebounds vs. St. Mary's of Maryland at the Elizabethtown Tournament on 1/3/20.

2018-19: Gabel played regularly for the Golden Flyers in 2018-19 as he appeared in all 26 games, averaging 17 minutes per game... contributed 6.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game... shot 45.5 percent (56-for-123) from the field, including 41.9 percent (18-for-43) from three-point range... went 4-for-5 from three-point range for a season-best 18 points in a loss to Rochester on 12/8/18... also scored 18 in a home-court win over Alfred on 1/15/19... played for the Golden Flyers' golf team in 2018.

2017-18: Gabel played in 25 games for the Golden Flyers in 2017-18, including seven as a starter... contributed 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and posted a double-double at Sage on 1/2/18 with 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds... reached double figures in scoring 10 times, topping out with a season-high 16 points against Hartwick on 2/2/18... also grabbed 10 rebounds in the Golden Flyers' Empire 8 Tournament win over Alfred on 2/23/18.

Scholastic: a graduate of Fairport High School, Gabel excelled in basketball and football there... played three seasons of varsity basketball and helped the Red Raiders to three Monroe County League titles as well as the Section 5 Class AA title in 2017.
