Women's resultsROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's and women's cross country teams put their best feet forward Saturday as they opened their 2015 seasons at the Flower City Opener on a steamy day at Genesee Valley Park.
Nazareth's men's team finished in fourth place with 115 points, behind Geneseo (32), Rochester (35) and RIT (68). Nazareth's women's team placed fifth with 122 points. Rochester was first with 30 points, followed by RIT (35), Geneseo (81) and St. John Fisher (104).
Sophomore Kevin Witt was Nazareth's top finisher in the men's 6-kilometer race as he placed 28th with a time of 21:28.5. Senior Patrick Neureuter was next in 31st place (21:45.6). Rounding out the top five were junior Tommy Lannon in 51st place (22:54.1); junior Matt Battaglia in 52nd place (22:57.3) and freshman Jack Wessel in 55th place (23:07.7).
Other Nazareth competitors were junior Jacob Murray (25:07.6); freshman Jaxon Smith (26:01.6); sophomore Kristopher Newell (26:24.5) and freshman Jacob Cuyler (26:49.2).
The Nazareth women's team competed in a 4-kilometer race and were paced by junior
Emily Thompson, who finished in 19th place (15:53.1), one place ahead of senior
Gabrielle LeBihan (15:53.8). After that, junior
Jamie DiSalvo finished 34th in 16:18.3; sophomore
Kimmy Lovett was 39th in 16:36.4; and senior
Robin Wagner was 48th in 17:03.3.

Blair Meeson (17:19.8); freshmen
Cindy Brownson (17:41.7),
Eileen Shea (17:43.6),
Jessica Hernandez (18:03.9),
Danielle Foeller (18:52.0) and
Shannon Burke (19:33.3) and sophomore
Claire Ludington (18:12.4).
Nazareth competes again Saturday at the RPI Invitational.
