ROCHESTER, NY –The Nazareth women's cross country team finished fourth of nine teams on Saturday at the Empire 8 Championships hosted at the Murphy Field Cross Country Course at St. John Fisher. Senior
Ella Impaglia was the top finisher for the Golden Flyers, taking sixth place over the 6k course in 22:56.6.
How it Happened:
- Geneseo was the champion with 22 points, followed by Houghton (69), Brockport (83), Nazareth (94), Utica (137), St. John Fisher (143), Hartwick (214), Alfred (224), and Keuka (294) in ninth place.
- The second runner for Nazareth was junior Meghan Moyer in 19th place in a time of 23:48.2
- Fellow junior Bailey Visingard was not far behind in 21st place (24:00.6)
- Junior Kelsey Fahy took 29th place with a 24:32.1
- Rounding out the scorers was first year Jane Beyer who came in 34th place (24:44.8)
- Other runners for Nazareth included junior Kennedy Doran in 37th place (25:00.5), freshman Felicity Scherer in 43rd (25:27.7), and junior Ava Baker in 48th (25:50.0)
Meet Notes:
- Impaglia improved upon her Empire 8 Championship place from 2024 when she took 13th place
- Visingard placed 21st at the conference championships for the second-straight year
