ROCHESTER, N.Y. (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Men's Track & Field placed fifth at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships on Saturday at St. John Fisher University, totaling 65 points.

Graeden Heichberger highlighted action for the Golden Flyers on the final day of competition, winning his first E8 shot put title with a school and meet record of 16.90 meters. Heichberger earned E8 Championship Field Athlete of the Meet for his performances on Friday and Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Aaron Lund finished second in the decathlon with 5,910 points, while Jack Pomykaj placed third with 5,765.
• Graeden Heichberger won the shot put with a throw of 16.90 meters, setting both school and meet records.
• The 4x100-meter relay team of Ben Brewer, Jack Healy, Brady Do and Nicholas Driver placed fifth in 43.78 seconds.
• Nicholas Driver finished 12th in the 200 meters in 22.53 seconds.
• Cameron Almy placed 10th in the 5,000 meters in 15:32.84, one day after setting a school record in the 10,000 meters.
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Jack Healy, Nicholas Driver, Evan Laurenzo and Michael Puglisi placed fourth in 3:22.98, meeting the regional qualifying standard.
