ROCHESTER, N.Y. (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Men's Track & Field competed in the first day of action at the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships hosted by St. John Fisher, Friday, sitting in fifth place with 32 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the decathlon, Jack Pomykaj is fourth with 3,082 points and Aaron Lund is sixth with 2,903. The event concludes Saturday.
- Nazareth placed three in the pole vault: Evan Laurenzo (fifth, 4.39 meters), Dylan Buckingham (sixth, 4.39 meters) and Will D'Agata (eighth).
- In the hammer throw, Graeden Heichberger finished second (56.48 meters) and David Dobrowolski placed third (54.88 meters). Both met the regional qualifying standard.
- Cam Almy placed third in the 10,000 meters (31:21.85). Connor Jackson finished 12th (32:26.74) and met the regional qualifying standard.
- The 4x800 relay team of Laurenzo, Thaun Nguyen, Brennan Farr and Gavin McAllister finished sixth in 8:26.85.
