UTICA, NY - The Nazareth Women's Track and Field team traveled to Utica on Friday for the first day of the Utica Blue & Orange Invitational to participate in the Pentathlon and 5k events. The team had great finishes with
Samantha Luba breaking her own record on confirming her first place spot on the Nazareth all time Top Ten list.
How It Happened:
- Jane Beyer and Meghan Moyer raced the 5k and finished 2nd and 3rd place running through the line together
- Samantha Luba acquire a 2nd place finish overall in the pentathlon scoring a total of 3255 points
Meet Notes:
- Luba crushed her previous record of total points scored in the Pentathlon moving up from 3246 to an outstanding 3255, holding her place as 1st on the Nazareth all time top 10 list
- In the Pentathlon 60m Hurdles Luba earned another personal best with a time of 9.19
- Moyer was seconds away from breaking her own personal record alongside Beyer, racing her first indoor collegiate 5k
What's Next:
- The rest of the Nazareth track and field team will be traveling to finish off the Utica Blue & Orange Invitational on Saturday. Next weekend the team will host the Division III Elite Meet on February 13th and 14th in the Gollisano Training Center.
