ROCHESTER, N.Y. The Nazareth Track and Field team hosted the Empire 8 Championships on Friday for day 1 of the 2-day meet, with the Golden Flyers sitting in second place. Three school records were broken, making for an incredible start to the championship meet. The team scores are as follows:

How it Happened:

The women's distance medley relay including Kelsey Fahy, Abigail Bowman, Mariah LeGrow and Ella Impaglia had a 2nd place finish crossing the line at 12:29.26.

The pole vaulters dominated the boards with three Flyers medaling and four podium finishes. Isabel Morse broke her own school record and ranks in the top 10 nationally after her performance.

A school recorded was broken by Emily Rolince in the Shot Put, throwing 12.33 meters (40'5 ½")

Samantha Luba raced the 60 meter pentathlon hurdles and broke the school record with a time of 8.90, placing 2nd place overall in the Pentathlon (3,470 points). She was first in the 800 meters in 2:26.38, second in the high jump at 1.52 meters (4' 11 ¾") and third in the long jump and pole vault. Luba's 3,470 points put her at 11th nationally.

Isabel Morse has now won four-straight Indoor pole vault events.
