ROCHESTER, N.Y. The Nazareth Track and Field team hosted the Empire 8 championship on Friday for the first day of the two-day meet, with Nazareth currently in 5th place. Many outstanding performances occurred, building strong momentum for the second day of the championship meet. Team scores currently:

How It Happened:
- Michael Puglisi had a podium finish in the 400 running a time of 49.38, placing 5th overall.

Graeden Heichberger meddled in the Shot Put throwing 15.28 (50-1 ¾ ft) taking a honorary 2nd place

2 podium finishes occurred in the Pole Vault with Dylan Buckingham placing 3rd and matching his career best, and Nolan Armitage placing 8th

Currently in the Heptathalon Jack Pomykaj is in 3rd place and Aaron Lund in 7th, with the event finishing on Saturday. Pomykaj was victorious in the long jump at 6.50 meters (21' 4"). He was also second in the 60-meter dash at 7.30.

Cameron Almy raced the 5000 meter race and crossed the line at 15:20.06, earning a qualifying time for regionals and a 7th place finish overall
