ROCHESTER, NY – The Nazareth women's track and field team competed in its first meet of the spring semester on Friday night at RIT. There were many strong performances across the board occurred with a plethora of athletes having a very successful night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alaina Morley placed 4th overall in the 60-meter dash with a quick time of 8.01
- Ella Impaglia led the Nazareth distance crew through the mile placing 6th with a time of 5.20.12, Kelsey Fahy finished soon after coming across the line at 5.26.36.
- Later, in the 1000-meter race first year Mariah LeGrow had on outstanding performance with a time of 3.11.96, earning herself a 5th place finish
- The pole vaulters had a very successful night with Kiara Tornusciolo placing 5th obtaining a height of 11-10 ½ ft and fellow Nazareth vaulters finishing just behind her
- Amber Hayes, only a freshman, placed 4th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.33, while Samantha Luba earned a 5th place finish with a time of 9.35.
- In the triple jump, Madyson Bush took 7th in a mark of 10.21 meters (33'6").
MEET NOTES
- Poll Vaulters, Tornusciolo, Isabel Morse and Rosie Morse all had great performances that acquired them 5th, 6th and 7th place in the overall scoring
- The 4x400 team including LeGrow, Ava Baker, Abigail Bowman and Impaglia raced to 5th place with a time of 4.22.89
UP NEXT
Next weekend the Nazareth track and field teams host the Conference Challenge Cup home at the Golisano Training Center. The meet begins at 10 am on Saturday, January 31.
