Rush, N.Y. – The Nazareth University men's golf team opened its season in strong fashion, ending day one of the St. John Fisher Invitational in second place. Junior
Lincoln Crosby led the Golden Flyers with a round of 75 (+4). Crosby got off to a hot start, carding four birdies in his first seven holes. He turned in a 34 on the front nine before closing with a 41 on the back.
How it Happened:
- Nazareth posted a team score of 309 (+25), just five shots back of host St. John Fisher, who lead the field at 304 (+20). Keuka (352, +68) and Hilbert (381, +97) round out the leaderboard in third and fourth.
- Freshman Jaxstin Bingham shot a 76 (+5), good for a tie in third place on the individual leaderboards. He opened the round with seven consecutive pars, adding six more for a total of thirteen on the day.
- Freshman Jack Fesetch finds himself in sixth place, carding a 78 (+7) through 18. He strung together six consecutive pars from hole 8 to 13, capping the streak with a birdie on 14.
- Rounding out the top four for the Golden Flyers was Sophomore Charlie Calcagni. He shot an 80 (+9), highlighted by five pars on the back nine.
- Senior Vincent Falgiatano and Freshman Todd Wilson finished next for Nazareth, shooting an 81 (+10) and an 82 (+11), respectively. Falgiatano recorded birdies on holes 4 and 15, adding 7 pars along the way. Wilson was consistent all day, shooting a 41 on both the front and back nine, with a birdie on each side.
