Men’s Golf in Third After Day One of Oswego Fall Invitational

How It Happened
  • Oswego, N.Y. – Nazareth's men's golf team took part in day one of the Oswego State Fall Invitational and sits in third place out of nine teams with a total combined score of 307 (+23). Just ahead of Nazareth in the team standings are second place Hobart (303, +19) and tournament leaders Clarkson (298, +14), while Russel Gage (308, +24) closely trails the Golden Flyers.
 
  • Freshman Josh Anstett had a great round, finding himself in a tie for second place overall on the individual leaderboard and leading the Golden Flyers. He carded a 72 (+1) and finished 15 holes with a par or better, his best round of collegiate golf thus far.
 
  • Junior Lincoln Crosby turned in the second best round among Nazareth golfers with a 77 (+6). He currently holds the 16th position aided by 11 pars with a birdie tacked on from hole 15.
 
  • Freshman Jack Fesetch finds himself in a tie for 29th and in third on his team (excl. the individual golfers) after carding a 79 (+8). He had a consistent round shooting a 39 on the front nine, and a 40 on the back.
 
  • Tied with Fesetch at 79 (+8) is Freshman Jaxstin Bingham, who shot two birdies and ended both rounds with pars to come in fourth (excl. individual golfers) among Golden Flyers and tied for 29th overall.
 
  • Senior Vincent Falgiatano was fifth among Nazareth golfers who competed in the team portion of the tournament, shooting an 87 (+16). He landed in 47th place.
 
  • Freshman Todd Wilson competed individually, turning in a score of 78 (+7) powered by a strong back nine. He was Nazareth's third best-scoring golfer and finished 23rd overall, but his score does not count towards the team's total.
 
  • Also competing individually today were Sophomores Jake Elinich (81, +10) and Justin Krause (86, +15). They finished 32nd and 46th respectively on the individual leaderboard.
 
What's Next
The Golden Flyers men's golf team is returning to Oswego Country Club on Sunday, September 28th for day two of the Oswego State Fall Invitational with hopes of continuing their streak of top-three finishes in tournaments.
