All-Conference Teams
ROCHESTER, NY – On Monday the Empire 8 Conference announced its all-conference teams with
Griffin Bond and
Max Funiciello being named the Doubles Team of the Year. In addition,
Noah Britton,
Pierre Ntonga were honored as Second Team singles players from the West division. Bond was Nazareth's representative on the Sportsman of the Year Team.
The men's tennis team finished first in the west division at 7-1, eventually falling in the championship game to Oswego.
It was the inaugural season for the Empire 8 to honor the doubles team of the year with Bond and Funiciello bringing in the honor. The duo combined to go 6-1 in league matches in the first slot, with just one loss to Oswego. They were tabbed to the First Team Doubles as well.
The duo was also tabbed First Team Singles for the West Division. Bond went 5-2 in conference play in the first singles slot to earn First Team singles for the second-straight year. Funiciello was 4-3 in E8 matches in the second singles spot.
Also earning recognition were Britton and Ntonga for Second Team Singles – West Division. Britton was an impressive 6-1 at fourth singles in 2025, while Ntonga was 5-2 in the third singles slot. Britton was a First Team singles selection 2023-24, while Ntonga Second Team for singles last season.
Bond is Nazareth's representative on the Sportsperson of the Year Team. One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2025 E8 Men's Tennis Sportsperson of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.
