Nazareth College Athletics

ROCHESTER, NY (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Men's Tennis (0-12, 0-8) dropped a close match to Alfred (12-5, 6-2), 4-3, Saturday afternoon inside the Golisano Training Center. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Nazareth jumped out to a 1-0 lead after claiming the doubles point, highlighted by a 6-4 win from Max Funiciello and Pierre Ntonga at No. 1 and a 6-3 victory from Hudson Nadasdi and Matthew Herb at No. 3.
• In singles play, Matthew Herb kept Nazareth within striking distance with a straight-sets 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5, securing the Golden Flyers' first singles point.
• Hudson Nadasdi followed with a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 6, earning Nazareth its third and final point of the match. 

MATCH NOTES 

• Matthew Herb finished his first collegiate tennis season with a team-best 6-3 record across the five and six spots. Herb picked up all six of his wins in Empire 8 action to lead the Golden Flyers. 
• Hudson Nadasdi earned his first collegiate wins in both doubles and singles over the Saxons this afternoon.
