WILLIAMSBURG, VA – The Nazareth women's golf team kicked off its spring competition on Saturday for the first round of the Ruckus Tournament at National Golf Club. Nazareth is in fifth place out of nine teams, after shooting a 363 (+75).
York leads the way with a 315 (+27), followed by Bowdoin and Drew at 321 (+33), Sweet Briar at 336 (+48), Nazareth at 363 (+75), Hartford at 380 (+92), Arcadia at 381 (+93), Shenandoah at 384 (+96) and Penn State Altoona at 474 (+186).
Nazareth was guided by graduate student
Kayla Ringler who carded an 87 (+15) for 17
th place. Her lone birdie came on the par-5 14
th which was playing 435 yards.
Ava Malvaso and
Bethany Wineburg each shot an 88 (+16) to earn a tie for 18
th place.
Kara Kopyt was tied for 33
rd after shooting a 100 (+28).
Grace Colangelo shot a 107 (+35) and
Sabrina Schultz a 131 (+59).
Nazareth will close out day 2 on Sunday.
