ROCHESTER, NY – The awards keep coming in for Nazareth junior
Jaylen Savage who on Wednesday was named a First Team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
On Tuesday, Savage was announced as the NABC District 3 Region Player of the Year.
Savage now joins Nazareth Hall of Famer Corey McAdam '10 as the only other player to earn First Team All-America honors. McAdam was honored with the award as a senior for 2009-10 season, the first season as head coach for the Golden Flyers for
Kevin Broderick.
After amassing 715 points over his first two seasons, Savage erupted for 566 for his junior campaign. The 566 points scored ranks sixth all-time on the Nazareth single season list. He surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career during 2024-25 season and now has 1,281 total.
Savage showed up in the biggest moments throughout the year including scoring the game-winning bucket as time expired in Nazareth's Battle of the Beaks win at St. John Fisher on January 28. During the Empire 8 tournament in the quarterfinals and semifinals, Savage averaged 28.5 points and 7.5 rebounds.
The Elmsford, NY native averaged 21.0 points and 6.1 rebounds in 35.3 minutes per game.
