Savage Selected for NABC Division III All Star Game

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Men's Basketball senior Jaylen Savage has been selected to compete at the 2026 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-Star Game, Saturday, March 21, in Fort Wanye, Indiana. Savage is only the 4th athlete in school history from the mens basketball team that has been invited to participate in this game (Corey McAdam sr. guard 2009-10, Mitch Ford sr. center 2015-16, and Stephen Gabel, gr. Guard 2021-22).

Savage earned the honor following a standout senior season in which he helped lead the Golden Flyers to a strong regular-season finish, establishing himself as one of the top players in the region. The NABC All-Star Game features many of the top graduating seniors from across Division III and is traditionally played in conjunction with the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship weekend.

Savage has been one of the most successful players in recent history for the Nazareth Golden Flyers men's basketball program. A 6'2" guard from Elmsford, NY Savage quickly developed into a standout at the Division III level and earned national recognition during his career.

He made an immediate impact during his freshman season. As a first-year player, he started every game and averaged 13.0 points per game, while also contributing 3.4 rebounds, 50 assists, and 31 steals on the season. His strong performance earned him Empire 8 Rookie of the Year honors, Second-Team All-Empire 8 recognition, and six Empire 8 Rookie of the Week awards. His freshman campaign quickly established him as one of the top young guards in the conference and a key piece of Nazareth's roster moving forward.

Savage's breakout came during the 2024–25 season, when he put together one of the most impressive seasons in program history. He averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game, leading the Golden Flyers offensively while also contributing on the boards and as a playmaker. During that season he set an Empire 8 record for field goals made in a single season with 217, highlighting his scoring ability and consistency. His performance earned him numerous honors, including Empire 8 Player of the Year, All-Empire 8 First Team, NABC First-Team All-American, NABC District III Player of the Year, D3Hoops.com First Team All-Region, and USBWA Rochester Player of the Year. He was also named a finalist for the NABC Division III National Player of the Year award, placing him among the top players in the country.

In his senior season, Savage continued to lead Nazareth statistically and remained one of the team's most important players. He averaged 17.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, while also adding 1.3 steals per game and playing 34.3 minutes per game, starting every contest. During the season, he also reached a major career milestone by surpassing 1,000 career points, becoming the 31st player in Nazareth program history to reach that mark.

Start time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
