Ella Kules tallied her 1000
th assist with some change during a loss in the first game of a tri-match against Catholic University. Nazareth came back to win against Ramapo after losing the first two sets.

Nazareth is now 3-6 overall and will host its first home match on September 18
th against University of Rochester at 6 p.m.

Catholic University defeats Nazareth 3-0 (17-25), (21-25), (18-25)

The first set seemed to be decided when the Cardinals were up 22-10. However, Nazareth went on a late 6-point run to make the set much more interesting at 22-16. Unfortunately, the run was a little too late, and Catholic University took the set 25-17.

The second set was much closer from the get-go, neither team leading by more than four points for the entire set. The Cardinals narrowly took the set 25-21 after a lot of back and forth.
Late in the third set, Nazareth was within one point at 17-16, looking to even up the score. However, the Cardinals went on a four-point run that Nazareth was not able to come back from.

Ella Kules had 20 assists, smashing the 1000 assist milestone by 13. She also added eight digs.
Leah Fusilli led the offense with eight kills, as well as tallying seven digs on the defensive end.
Olivia Atkins led the defense with 10 digs, as well as adding two assists.
Zipporah Sparkman was aggressive at the net with four kills and three blocks.
Ruth Jackson had a well-rounded game recording four kills, five aces, one block, and one assist.

Nazareth defeats Ramapo in five sets (20-25), (21-25), (30-28), (25-18), (15-13)
In the first set, the Golden Flyers held a late six-point lead that was negated by a couple of scoring runs from the Roadrunners. Nazareth couldn't recover from those scoring deficits, and lost the set 25-20.

The second set yielded similar results for Nazareth. Down 20-15, the Golden Flyers went on a run to tie the set at 20-20. But Nazareth lost their momentum after a kill from Ramapo and ended up losing the set 25-21.
Down two sets, Nazareth refused to say die, even after allowing Ramapo to score the first five points of the set. Ramapo was up 24-18, but the Golden Flyers went on a seven-point run to put them ahead 25-24 and keep the set alive. A long battle then ensued, but Nazareth emerged victorious, taking the set 30-28.

In the fourth set, Nazareth was down 15-13 when they went on a ten-point run to put them up by a convincing eight points late in the set, and Ramapo was not able to recover.

The final set to 15 was back and forth the entire set, but ultimately Nazareth's points proved to be more effective and they took the last set 15-13.
Once again it was Fusilli leading the offensive charge with 15 kills, as well as recording 13 digs. Atkins once again led the defense with 18 digs, while teammate
Rylie Loomis recorded 15. Kules recorded a whopping 41 assists, as well as adding 11 digs. Jackson and Sparkman added 11 and seven kills to the mix, respectively, while teammate
Hailey Trank recorded an impressive seven service aces.
