ROCHESTER, NY–
Ella Impaglia placed first in the 3000-meter event, while sophomores
Shiana Susa and
Alexis Lasher secured strong finishes in the 400 on Friday evening in the Nazareth Conference Tune-up. Sophomore
Samantha Luba also finished with a personal-best in the pentathlon.
Impaglia improved her personal best in the 3000-meter event, running a 10:44.25 for first place.
Lilianna Hanning placed sixth in the same event with a time of 10:56.57. Impaglia also was sixth in the 800-meter (2:25.23) run followed by seniors
Paige Ackley (2:25.34) and
Isabella Heath (2:25.66).
In the weight throw, senior
Lea Richard had an impressive first-place finish with a heave of 17.37 meters (57 feet). Freshman
Hailey Webber notched tenth place in the same event with a mark of 14.28 meters (46 feet, 10 inches)
Susa (1:03.59) placed fifth in the 400 while fellow teammate Lasher finished seventh with a time of 1:03.91. Lasher's previous best was 1:05.32. Lasher also improved her personal-best in the 60-meter event (8.22), placing her fifth place overall.
Luba secured second place in the women's pentathlon, scoring a 2719 overall, while freshmen teammates
Mallory Rice (2586) and
Madelynn Jones (2539) improved their overall scores for the pentathlon after a third and fourth place finishes.
In the long jump event, sophomore
Alaina Morley placed second at 5.42 meters (17 feet, 9 ½ inches) which improved her personal-best score. Senior
Isabella Heath placed tenth with a score of 5.15 meters (16 feet, 10 ¾ inches). Morley also had a strong finish in the 200-meter placing her in ninth place overall (27.56).
Isabel Morse,
Kiara Tornusciolo, and
Rosie Morse all had strong finishes in the pole vault Morse placed second at 3.45 meters (11 feet, 3 ¾ inches) while Tornusciolo at 3.30 meters (10 feet, 10 inches) and Morse at 3.15 meters (10 feet, 4 inches) followed in fifth and seventh place, respectively. In the shot put event, freshman
Hailey Webber notched ninth place at 11.42 meters (37 feet, 5 ¾ inches).
To wrap up the night, the women's 4x400 placed third with a time of 4:30.39 which included
Ava Baker, Impaglia,
Kelsey Fahy, and Ackley.
The Golden Flyers return back to action for the Empire 8 Championships hosted at Houghton College on Friday February 23 starting at 3 p.m.
