ROCHESTER, NY– Graduate student
Kaleb Luton improved his personal best time in the 60-meter event Friday evening at the Nazareth Conference Tune-up. Junior
Benjamin Lewis and senior
Mike Welch also had strong finishes in the 400-meter event.
Luton finished third with a personal-best time of 7.11 (previous high of 7.18) in the men's 60-meter event to kick off the meet.
Lewis finished with a time of 51.89 in the 400-meter event, securing sixth place, followed by Welch who ran a 52:45 which placed him ninth.
Sophomore
Aaron Lund earned fourth overall in the 60-meter hurdle event with a time of 8.91.
Senior
Nathan Bowers had a strong finish of eighth place (4:28:19) in the one-mile event. Junior
Cade Eells also notched ninth place in the 800-meter event with a time of 1:59.75, while fellow teammate
Gavin McAllister earned tenth place (2.00.09).
To conclude the event, sophomore
Jack Pomykaj and
Jason Bletsko each hit 4.30 meters (14 feet, 1 ¼ inches) in the pole vault. Pomykaj earned a tie for third after hitting 4.30 on his first attempt, while Bletsko earned fifth after getting it on his second.
Junior
Kyle Reid was seventh in the high jump at 1.77 meters (5 feet, 9 ¾ inches).
The Golden Flyers return back to action for the Empire 8 Championships hosted at Houghton College on Friday, February 23.
