ROCHESTER, NY - The Nazareth men's track and field squad won a pair of Empire 8 championships, the indoor title in 2022-23 and the outdoor championship in 2023, both the first-ever in program history.

Nazareth's first title came on its home turf of the Golisano Training Center on February 25th, 2023. The Golden Flyers racked up 178 points ahead of second placed Utica with 151. Sophomore Cade Eells was named the Empire 8 Track Athlete of the Meet after securing 26 points. He won the mile run, crossing the finish line first in a time of 4:26.62 and was runner-up in both the 800-meters (1:58.95) and 3,000-meter run (8:55.95).

The squad followed it up with a nine-point win over the Pioneers for the outdoor championships on May 6, 2023. Holding a five-point lead heading into the final event, the Nazareth 4 x 400-meter relay of Michael Puglisi, Benjamin Lewis, Gavin McAllister, and Jaylen Savage won the race to help Nazareth earn the title.
