Final Results
BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Nazareth traveled across the city for the Brockport Golden Eagle Meet on Saturday. Sophomore
Jack Pomykaj tied the school record with his second place finish in the pole vault at 4.40 meters (14' 5 1/4"), and classmate
Michael Puglisi had a pair of top five finishes to lead the Golden Flyers. Puglisi was second in the 400-meter dash and qualified for the regional championships in the event with his time of 50.43 seconds, then he was third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.57 seconds.
In the 60-meter hurdle final, senior
Connor McCauslin was sixth (9.04 seconds), and sophomore
Aaron Lund was seventh (9.10 seconds). Junior
Cade Eells paced the Golden Flyers in the 500-meter run with a third-place finish and time of 1:12.29. Freshman
Brennan Farr (1:12.82) and sophomore
Joseph Cataldo (1:12.86) followed Eells to place fourth and fifth, respectively, in the event. Senior
Nathan Bowers was the top runner in the 800-meters with a time of 2:02.99. Freshman
Cole Hastings finished a couple of seconds later in 18th place with a time of 2:04.27.
In field events, sophomore
Declan Murphy was 16th in the weight throw with a mark of 11.13 meters (36' 6 1/4"), and classmate
Gabe Wilson was 16th in the long jump with a mark of 5.98 meters (19' 7 1/2"). Freshman
David Dobrowolski added a 23rd place finish in the shot put (35' 10").
In the 4x400 meter relay, Nazareth's A team of
Mike Welch, Pomykaj,
Jack Healy and
Joey Nettles was sixth with a time of 3:37.75. The Golden Flyers' top distance medley team of
Brennan Farr,
Gavin McAllister,
Antonio Benitez, and Eells finished first with a time of 11:00.02. The A team edged Nazareth's second team of
Ethan Kenyon,
Kenny Williams,
Ethan Glashauser, and
Nathan Bowers, who finished with a time of 11:01.99.Â
The Golden Flyers are in action again on January 27th when Nazareth hosts the Conference Challenge Cup at the Golisano Training Center
