NEW YORK, NY – Senior
Kaleb Luton placed third in the 60-meter hurdles and was the highest finisher for the men's track and field team on Saturday for the All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field (at the Armory) meet. Overall, the men's team finished 23
rd out of 41 teams.
Luton clocked of a time of 8.23 in the 60-hurdles. He doubled up on events and also finished in 14
th place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.22 meters (43 feet, 4 ½ inches).
Freshman
Michael Puglisi,
Mike Welch,
Benjamin Lewis, and
Joey Nettles ran a season-best in the 4 x 200, finishing in 1:33.44 which was good for a 18
th place finish out of 25 teams. That mark is the third fastest time in school history.
Welch also ripped of a 50.91 in the 400 to take 22
nd place.
In the heptathlon,
John Pomykaj shined in the pole vault, winning in a career-best of 4.00 meters (13 feet, 1 ½ inches). He ended up finishing with 3,997 points overall, which was good for ninth place. Classmate
Aaron Lund finished in 11
th place with 3,727 points. He had a pair of sixth place finishes, first in the high jump with a height of 1.72 meters (5 feet, 7 ¾ inches) from Friday. On Saturday, he was sixth in the 1,000 in a time of 2:57.00.
Nathan Bowers and
Cade Eells finished 19
th and 21,
st respectively in the 3,000-meter run. Bowers clocked a 8:44.46, while Eells was close behind in 8:47.00.
Puglisi raced to a 31
st place finish in the 200 (23.08).
