FINAL RESULTS
ROCHESTER, NY – Graduate student Kaleb Luton nearly broke the school record in the 60-meter hurdles and led several athletes with personal best performances including a 3.40 meter height in the pole vault for sophomore Jack Pomykaj as the Nazareth University Men's Track and Field team opened the 2023-24 Indoor season with the annual Nazareth Alumni meet Friday night at the Golisano Training Center.
Luton was first in the hurdles with a time of 8.14 seconds which was just .01 off his own school record of 8.13 set last year. Fellow graduate student Connor McCauslin was eighth in the race with a time of 8.98.
Also in the sprints, junior Benjamin Lewis had a PR in the 60-meters open division race with a 7.30 time while teammate and sophomore Michael Puglisi had a PR in the 60-meters invitational race with a time of 7.136 seconds.
Puglisi added a PR in the 300 meters with a time of 35.85 to finish second overall and later teamed with graduate student Mike Welch, Lewis and sophomore Gavin McAllister for a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 relay.
Pomykaj was eighth in the long jump with a leap of 6.38 meters (20' 11 ¼) while sophomore Gabe Wilson was fourth in the high jump as he cleared the 1.77-meter (5' 9 ¾") bar and Luton led Nazareth with his seventh-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 12.74 meters (41' 9 ¾").
Freshman Cole Hastings finished sixth in the 500 meters with a time of 1:08.73.
In the Alumni Mile race,
Patrick Healy was the top finisher in 5:02.87 while Joshua Tomaka was second in 5:18.70 and Jake Suddaby was third in 5:20.56.
