ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth had 11 different goal scorers Saturday as the Golden Flyers dominated Russell Sage in an Empire 8 Conference women's lacrosse game, winning 18-3, on Nazareth's artificial turf field.
Nazareth improved to 4-1 in Empire 8 games and 6-8 overall. The Gators are 2-3 in the E8 and 5-8 overall.
Emma Robinson scored three times for Nazareth and
Maren Wallace,
Emma States,
Eleanor Matz,
Emily Paddock and
Maggie Vay had two goals each. Nazareth enjoyed large advantages in shots (39-10), ground balls (18-5) and draw controls (16-8) with
Emma Parry dominating again in those three categories. She contributed six ground balls, five draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Nazareth had a 23-2 edge in shots in the first half and the Golden Flyers were able to score 12 times with nine different players delivering. Paddock scored the game's first two goals. Then Robinson,
Kate Metzler, Wallace, States,
Hannah Kirisits and Vay all scored before the first quarter expired.
Matz had two of Nazareth's four goals in the second quarter.
Reva Mussi scored 17 seconds into the period and Robinson added her second goal of the game with 2:28 left.
Nazareth's lead grew to 14-0 early in the third quarter thanks to goals from Vay and
Liddie Hoare. Robinson and Wallace scored in the fourth quarter. The game also included first-time assists for
Maggie Gannon and
Julia Dietz.
Makenna Misiurewicz and
Caraline Riley also had assists.
Alexandra McQuenney, Aimee Rodriguez and Lailah Espinal had goals for Russell Sage.
Emma Prosak made her sixth straight start in goal and gained the win by making five saves. Madeline Butta had 15 saves for the Gators.
Nazareth plays its last two regular-season games at home -- Tuesday against St. Lawrence at 6 p.m. and Utica Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
