ITHACA, NY – Junior
Alexa Rizzo turned in a second-place finish in the 1-meter board on Saturday, just .35 points behind the first-place finisher, as Nazareth completed the second day of the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational. Nazareth moved up one spot in the standings to sixth place out of 10 teams with 420.5 points.
Rizzo earned runner-up on the 1-meter board with 477.35 points, while
Elizabeth Tripp put up 444.10 points which earned her a fifth-place finish.
Nazareth's 200-yard free relay of
Amy Barry,
Alex Koeferl,
Darby McNamara, and
Elizabeth Deck were the seventh-place finishers in 1:43.12 after coming in with a seed time of 1:44.31. In the other relay of the day, the 800-yard freestyle, McNamara, Deck,
Julie Filipski, and
Caroline Coleman also were seventh in a time of 8:18.25
Grace Cioffi had a nice showing for the Golden Flyers in the 400-yard IM, swimming to a seventh-place finish in 4:44.37, while Senior
Rebecca Skelley was 10
th in 5:04.60. Later in the day, Cioffi turned in an 11
th place showing in the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.51) and Skelley was 18
th (2:25.54).
In 100-yard butterfly
Abigail Santos took a tie for 15
th place in a time of 1:00.50, while McNamara (1:03.62) and sophomore
Skylar Guerzon (1:04.80) were 31st and 32
nd, respectively.
The trio of Santos (1:09.12), Filipski (1:10.27) and Skelley (1:10.53) took 10
th-12
th place in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Isabella Jaskowski was able to finish 12
th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.78).
Coleman (2:00.56),
Elizabeth Deck (2:01.44) and Filipski (2:02.27) were 20
th, 24
th, and 29
th in the 200-yard free.
Nazareth will close out the Bomber Invitational on Sunday.
