ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Grace Lanzetta has been named the Empire 8 Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 6 after helping the Golden Flyers win the conference championship over the weekend.
 
Lanzetta was named the Most Valuable Player of the Empire 8 Tournament on Saturday as Nazareth defeated Utica 1-0 at Golden Flyer to earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championships. The Rockaway Park, NY native was instrumental in shutting down the high-powered Pioneers offense in the championship after Utica had delivered five goals in its semifinal win over top-seeded Fisher. Lanzetta and the Golden Flyers also had a blank sheet in Thursday's 2-0 semifinal win over third-seeded Sage.
 
Nazareth will await their NCAA Tournament destination with the selection show taking place at 2 p.m. on Monday.
