ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Claire Bargabos, a senior on the Golden Flyers' cross country team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Runner of the Week for the period that ended Sept. 12.

Bargabos, of Manlius, N.Y. and a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, was the Golden Flyers' top finisher Saturday as Nazareth finished fourth in the team standings at Hamilton's Short Course Invitational. Bargabos finished in 11th place individually with a personal-best time of 15:28.1 for 4 kilometers. Nazareth had five of the top 27 runners to finish with 96 points and trailed only Ithaca, St. Lawrence and Hamilton in the team competition.

Nazareth competes again Saturday at UR's Yellowjacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park.
