ROCHESTER, NY – A pair of personal bests for junior Christopher Perez and another PR and nearly a school record for sophomore Connor McCauslin were just a couple of the many highlights for the Nazareth College Men's Track and Field team Monday night at the RIT Invitational meet.
Perez had a great night as he recorded a PR in the shot put with a second place finish and a 37.69 meter (123' 8") throw in the hammer and also recorded a PR in the shot put with a third place finish and a toss of 10.89 meters (35' 8 ¾"). He was also fifth in the discus with a toss of 24.24 meters (79' 6").
McCauslin set his PR in the 100 meters with a winning time of 11.31 seconds and was just .01 off his own school record in the 110 hurdles with a winning time of 15.06.
In the field events, junior Matthew Johnson had a PR and placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 12.92 meters (42' 4 ¾") while sophomore Kaleb Luton set the school record in the long jump as he placed second with a leap of 6.59 meters (21' 7 ½").
Luton was also fourth in the 100 while sophomore Nathan Bowers was second in the 1500 (4:16.19), senior Michael Brown was fourth in the 800 and sophomore Mike Welch was fourth in the 200 for Nazareth.
The 4x400 relay with junior Josh Tomaka, sophomore Nathan McNally, Brown and junior Patrick Healy placed first with a time of 3:40.27.
Nazareth will compete Saturday in the Cardinal Classic at St. John Fisher.
