ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Zach Stenglein led the Nazareth College Men's Basketball team with 17 points and seven rebounds but visiting St. John Fisher used a late first half run and a huge run to start the second half to take an 83-62 Empire 8 victory Tuesday night in Kidera Gymnasium.

A layup by junior Jonathan Park gave Nazareth (5-2 overall, 5-1 E8) a 20-17 lead midway through the first half. The Cardinals (4-1, 4-0) went on a couple runs and finished the half scoring 21 of the final 27 points of the period to take a 38-26 lead into the intermission.

The Golden Flyers opened the second half with a steal by senior Isaac Nelson and a jumper by Stenglein but St. John Fisher rattled off 25 of the next 26 points to build a commanding lead at 58-29 with 14 minutes to play.

Nazareth did not quit and went on an 11-1 run to trim the lead to 13 points at 68-55 but the Cardinals rallied to regain the 20-point lead and a late basket by St. John Fisher's Brendan Trapper capped the scoring for the 21-point victory. Trapper led all scorers with 34 points.
