GALLATIN, Tenn. -- For the second day in a row, Nazareth's men's basketball team came from behind with a strong second half to claim a non-conference victory at the Music City Classic in suburban Nashville Thursday. The Golden Flyers outscored Carroll University of Waukesha, Wis. 43-23 over the final 20 minutes to take a 72-58 victory.
Nazareth won for the sixth time in a row to improve to 8-1 overall. Carroll, which competes in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, dropped to 4-9 overall. The Golden Flyers also defeated Edgewood College 78-72 on Wednesday for a successful two-game visit to Tennessee.

Gabel led the Golden Flyers with a double-double as he combined a game-high 20 points with 11 rebounds.
Kevin Underwood came off the bench to score 18 and
Jonathan Park had 12 points and eight rebounds.
Nazareth trailed early on as Carroll built a double-digit advantage in the first half before settling for a 35-29 lead at the break. The Pioneers benefited from some accurate long-distance shooting as they made six three-pointers before the break.
Nazareth dominated the second half as
Gabel scored 13 of his points and Underwood had nine. Underwood scored all nine of his points during a three-minute flurry, during which Nazareth took the lead for good at 43-40 with 14:35 left.
Gabel went to work after that by scoring 11 points over the final 10 minutes as Nazareth gradually pulled away.
Isaac Nelson nailed his second three-pointer of the half with 3:10 left as the Golden Flyers extended their lead to 20 points at 70-50.
Nazareth enjoyed a hot-shooting second half in making 18 of 28 shots with four three-pointers. Carroll, meanwhile, went 10 for 28 in the second half with just one long-range basket.
Gabel's 20 points included 8-for-13 shooting with two three-pointers, while Underwood went 6-for-9 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the foul line.
The Golden Flyers open their Empire 8 Conference schedule with a home game Tuesday against Houghton at 7:30 p.m.
