OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Isaac Nelson scored 17 points with five three-point baskets and Jonathan Park added 13 points with five rebounds and four blocks to lead Nazareth to a 67-65 non-conference men's basketball victory over Oswego.

The loss was the first of the season for Oswego, which dropped to 3-1. The Golden Flyers improved to 5-1 overall with their third straight win and their first on the road.

Nazareth led 41-33 at the half as the Golden Flyers made eight of their nine three-pointers. Nelson made all five of his three-pointers, his last coming with less than a minute to play in the half to extend Nazareth's lead to 10, 41-31.

The Golden Flyers never trailed in the second half and used a nine-point scoring run to extend the lead to 13 points, 64-51, with less than six minutes to play.

Oswego stormed back with a 14-2 run to close within one point, 66-65, with 1:30 left. Park had a blocked shot on an ensuing possession to preserve the lead and Zach Stenglein made one of two three throws with :04 left to make the score 67-65. Oswego had a chance after Stenglein misfired on the second free throw, but a desperation three-pointer fell short as time expired.

Stenglein added 11 points and Stephen Gabel and Kevin Underwood each scored eight.

The Golden Flyers are off this weekend and then return to action Dec. 7 at SUNY Poly.
