Updated stats
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Four Nazareth players posted double-digit point totals Saturday and senior Cody Green became the 26th player in Golden Flyers' basketball history to surpass 1,000 career points as Nazareth defeated Elmira, 75-62, in an Empire 8 Conference game.

Nazareth won for the fourth straight time in men's basketball to improve to 13-4 overall and 5-1 in the Empire 8. Elmira dropped to 1-17 overall and 0-7 in conference play.

Needing just four points to reach 1,000 points, Green canned four first-half free throws to reach the milestone. He finished with nine points overall after delivering 25 in Friday's win over Hartwick.

Sophomore Zach Stenglein led the Golden Flyers with 19 points, four assists and five steals. Stephen Gabel, Isaac Nelson and Kevin Underwood each scored 12 points. Underwood added 12 rebounds and four assists and Gabel had 10 rebounds.

Nelson got off to a hot start for Nazareth by scoring nine of his points in the first half as the Golden Flyers were building a 38-26 halftime lead.

In the second half, Nazareth's lead grew as large as 23 points, 56-33, following Green's only three-pointer of the game with 12:22 to go. Nazareth stayed comfortably ahead the rest of the way with Stenglein accounting for 14 of his points in the second half.

Rashaad Nurse finished as Elmira's leading scorer with 20 points.

The Golden Flyers host St. John Fisher Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the annual Battle of the Beaks game to benefit Golisano Children's Hospital.
