Rochester, NY- For the first time in program history Nazareth will be hosting the Men's Basketball Empire 8 Championships, February 23
rd and 24
th, beginning with the top-seeded Golden Flyers hosting fourth-seeded Alfred at 6 p.m. Friday. Second-seeded Stevens will take on No. 3 Utica following the first semifinal matchup at Kidera Gymnasium. Check out the full games notes below.

How Nazareth Got Here –
The Golden Flyers earned the Empire 8 Regular Season Title after compiling an 18-7 mark overall and 13-3 conference record. Nazareth won its first four conference games and had an important seven game stretch, where it went 7-0 in league play.

A Welcome First-
Nazareth is serving as the top seed and hosting the tournament for the first time in tournament history. The Golden Flyers have advanced to the Championship game five times, winning the title twice (2008, 2010).

Nazareth's depth has been important all season long and could come into play in the tournament. Seven players average double-digits in minutes played (

Conference Accolades
Nazareth senior
Tyler Stenglein was named the Empire 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Year Thursday. During conference play, Stenglein led the conference at 20.3 points per game and was sixth in assists at 3.9. He was joined on the first team by Burgio, who was second in the conference at 9.0 rebounds per game and ninth in scoring at 14.8. Head coach
Kevin Broderick and his staff were named the Coaching Staff of the Year. Jacob was Nazareth's representative on the Sportsman of the Year Team.
