GLASSBORO, N.J. -- Nazareth's men's and women's cross country teams closed out their seasons Saturday at the NCAA Atlantic Regional meet at Rowan College.

The Nazareth women's team posted several top 10 all-time times as they finished in 16th place among 43 teams with 484 points. The Nazareth men's team also competed and placed 34th with 1,038 points.

In the men's race, Geneseo, paced by individual champion Isaac Garcia-Cassani, also finished first with 51 team points. Rensselaer was next with 87 points, followed by The College of New Jersey in third place with 169.

Senior Matt Battaglia was Nazareth top performer in 180th place with an 8-kilometer time of 27:30.9. Other competitors were sophomore Jack Wessel in 185th place (27:44.5); freshman Nicasio Gristina in 192th place (27:50.4); and seniors Tom Lannon and Jacob Murray in 235th and 249th places respectively.

In the women's race, Nazareth senior Emily Thompson posted a personal-best time for 6 kilometers as she placed 42nd individually with a time of 22:18.8. Her previous best time for 6k was 22:54.2 two years ago at Letchworth State Park.

More than 300 runners competed with freshman Megan Menz placing 94th with a time of 23:02.1. She was followed by junior Claire Ludington in 99th place (23:08.5); junior Samantha Goble in 125th place (23:29.0); sophomore Eileen Shea in 126th place (23:29.2); senior Jamie DiSalvo in 129th place (23:34.0) and sophomore Sage Miller in 138th place (23:45.7).

Geneseo captured the team title with 90 points. Oneonta finished second with 112 points, while Rensselaer and Ithaca finished in a tie for third with 121 points. Amy Regan of Stevens was the individual champion with a winning time of 20:05.1.
