ResultsITHACA, NY – The Nazareth College men's and women's swimming and diving squads completed day one of the Bomber Invitational Friday night.
Alex LaPoint set the school record in the 200-yard IM, touching the wall in 1:53.70 to finish in second place.
Dan Burke turned a great race as well, clocking a 1:55.69 to earn a third place finish behind LaPoint.
Rob Coatsworth (2:05.24) and
Declan Lyons (2:05.65) were 27
th and 28
th in the event.
Gannon Connors was 25
th in the 50-yard freestyle (22.15).
In the 500-yard freestyle,
Andrew Battaglia earned a 13
th place finish with a 4:49.65.
Robert Draper and
Matt Leverich finished in times of 4:51.57 and 4:54.23 for 15
th and 20
th place, respectively.
The only relay of the night was the 200-yard medley, with Burke, LaPoint, Leverich, and
Sean Doyle earning a seventh place finish with a time of 1:37.31.
After finishing in sixth place a year ago in the 500-yard freestyle at the same invitational,
Cameron Hess finished in seventh place in a time of 5:08.68. Also competing in the event for the Golden Flyers was
Lillian Masters who clocked a 5:16.37 for 16
th place.
Brittany Heffler (2:21.27) and
Elizabeth Carro (2:21.46) were 38
th and 39
th in the 200-yard IM.
Kenna Hartmann saw her time of 25.48 in the 50-yard freestyle put her in 26
th place, while
Annamarie Policht was 33
rd with a time of 25.76.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Hartmann, Heffler,
Erika Holland, and
Shannon O'Malley finished in eighth place after a 1:54.49.
The Golden Flyers will be back in action on Saturday for day two of the Bomber Invitational.
