Rochester, N.Y. – The Nazareth men's swimming and diving team took the victory in their first meet of the season against Hobart College on Friday night. The Golden Flyers won the matchup in an extremely close event, by a score of 124-116.
How It Happened
- Freshman William Maxfield won all three of his individual events (100 yard butterfly in 1:01.99, 100 yard backstroke in 1:08.79, and 50 yard butterfly in 28.25, as well as a victory in the 200 yard medley relay (1:59.85). Maxfield, with this stellar performance, starts his collegiate career an impressive four-for-four
- Junior Gianluca Antonini took convincing victories in the distance events, winning the 800 yard freestyle (9:49.42) and the 400 yard freestyle (4:57.64). He also contributed to both relay wins
- Senior Alexander Baxter found success in the pool as well on Friday, winning both the 200 (2:12.50) and 100 (59.46) yard freestyle events
- Junior Aidan Wilken took his first collegiate victory, winning the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26:30

Men's swimming will hit the pool next on Saturday, November 1 for an Empire 8 in-conference meet against Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY.
