Heckman Steps Down as Head Swimming and Diving Coach

ROCHESTER, NY - Nazareth swimming and diving coach Chris Heckman has resigned from his position to pursue other professional opportunities. Heckman was at the helm for four years guiding the program.

A national search will be conducted to find the next head swimming and diving coach at Nazareth.

In Heckman's first season, he helped guide both the men's and women's programs to Empire 8 titles. Heckman also coached the women's swimming and diving squads to Empire 8 Championships in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

"I appreciate the efforts from Chris towards the Nazareth swimming and diving programs and wish him well in his future endeavors," said athletics director Pete Bothner.

During Heckman's tenure, he guided seven women to all-america status. In 2024, diver Alexa Rizzo finished 3rd overall at the NCAA Division III Championships on the 1-meter board.
