BOSTON, Mass. -- Several Nazareth athletes recorded school records or personal bests at the ECAC Track and Field Championships, which are being hosted at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Senior Jake Lafaver earned 10 points for the men's team with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run as he finished in 1:53.69. Junior Hannah Brackley was Nazareth's top performer in the women's meet with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of :58.81, which earned five points for the Golden Flyers' women's team.

Brackley's time of :58.81 in the 400 broke the school record again. Brackley's previous best time was :59.53 at the Bomber Invitational on February 15th. Sophomore Gabrielle LeBihan also broke her school record in the 3,000-meter run. LeBihan placed eighth to earn one point for the Golden Flyers as she finished in 10:17.71. Like Brackley, her previous school-record of 10:29.86 was also recorded at the Bomber Invitational. Freshman Emily Thompson also competed in the 3,000-meter run and recorded a personal-best time of 10:31.33. Thompson's former best time in the event was 10:43.79, which she also ran at Ithaca. Junior Michaela Gildemeyer also recorded a personal best time of 2:19.20 in the 800-meter run. With her time, Gildemeyer finished 12th. Gildemeyer set her former personal-best time of 2:20.15 just last week at the NYSCTC Championships.

Sophomore Taylor Pierson, who ranks fifth nationally in the long jump, did not compete at the ECAC meet. She will compete in the event in next week's NCAA Championships in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a freshman last year, Pierson was 10th at the NCAA indoor meet, and she was eighth in the NCAA outdoor meet. The top eight finishers are recognized as All-Americans.

Lafaver's time of 1:53.69 in the 800-meters was his best indoor time, almost two full seconds faster than his previous best indoor time of 1:55.53 that he recorded just last week at the NYSCTC Championships. Lafaver, who ran in the fourth heat, edged Matt Hinthorne's (UMass-Dartmouth) fifth-heat time by .11 seconds. The meet record is held by former Nazareth stand-out Nick Stenuf, who ran a 1:52.00 in the event in 2008. Sophomore Luis Rivera represented the Golden Flyers in the weight throw. After fouling his first two times, Rivera recorded a mark of 15.15 meters (49 ft., 8 29/64 in.). Rivera recorded his school-record mark of 16.24 meters (53 ft., 3 1/2 in.) last week at the NYSCTC Championships. It was the fourth time Rivera set the school record during the season.
