KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Sophomore Carissa Risucci finished 42nd Wednesday in the 200-yard IM during the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Tennessee.

Risucci's time of 2:13.02 was slightly slower than her seed time of 2:12.76. Her best events -- the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes -- will take place Friday and Saturday respectively.

Risucci earned All-American honors in 2010 in the 200 breast after placing eighth in Minneapolis. She also was an honorable mention All-American in the 100 breaststroke after placing 15th.

Risucci won the UNYS and Empire 8 titles in the 200 breaststroke three weeks ago and is seeded 14th in that event this week with a time of 2:21.13. She is seeded 23rd in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.71).
