Nazareth competes at Geneseo Open

GENESEO, N.Y. -- Freshman Dan Miranda was one of Nazareth's top performer in the men's meet at the Geneseo Open as he finished 10th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of :17.71 and 14th in the long jump with a mark of 5.55 meters (18 ft, 2 1/2 in). Freshman John Longo added a 17th place finish in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:10.

Longo was followed by junior Matt Morales in the 1,500 run, who placed 20th and finished about one second behind Longo. Additionally, freshman Philip Schier placed 18th in 400-meter dash (:53.57) while Dave Patalano was 18th in the javelin event (35.11 meters/115 ft, 2 in).

In the women's meet, freshman Keaghlan Morrissey placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.61 and ninth in the long jump with a mark of 4.45 meters (14 ft, 7 1/4 in). Freshman Jaclyn Conklin added a sixth place finish in the javelin throw with a mark of 22.08 meters (72 ft, 5 in) and an eighth place finish in the shot put with a mark of 9.47 meters (31 ft, 1 in).

Other top performers included senior Jill Egmond who finished seventh in the pole vault (2.65 meters/8 ft, 8 1/4 in) and 12th in the 100-meter hurdles (:17.65). In the 5,000-meter run, sophomore Michelle Gillette placed seventh (20:29), followed by senior Kaitlin Gecsedi (21:24) and junior Jessica Stanchus (22:07) in 10th and 11th place, respectively.

Senior Caitlyn Parmelee led the Nazareth finishers in the 1,500-meter run as she finished seventh with a time of 5:05. Parmelee was followed by Lauren Jamieson (5:17), Samantha Hickok (5:25), Kelsey Ryan (5:29), and Sarah Wilcox (5:31), who claimed ninth thru 12th place in the race.

In the 800-meter run, freshman Kelsey Mash was the Golden Flyers' top finisher in eighth place with a time of 2:25.65 while Alyssa Lindstrom also added an eighth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.30. Senior Emily Irish placed 11th in the hammer throw (29.82 meters/97ft, 10 in), 14th in the shot put (7.12 meters/23 ft, 4 1/2 in), and 15th in the 100-meter dash (:15.32).
