ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's track and field team placed sixth with seven team points Saturday at the Empire 8 Conference track and field championships at RIT.
Junior
Matt Morales was the top performer with a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter run (15:55.46). Freshman
Philip Schierer finished fourth in the 400-meter dash (:53.05) and freshman
John Longo ran seventh in the 1,500-meter run (4:15.78).
The women's team also placed sixth with 30 points as junior
Kristi Custer finished first in the triple jump.
Custer leaped 10.39 meters to win her event. Other top finishers included freshman
Lauren Jamieson, who finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:23.23); freshman
Mindy Niebuhr, who placed fourth in the high jump (1.48 meters); freshman
Kelsey Mash, who was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:27.22); and sophomore
Evelyn DeSantis, who ran sixth in the 400-meter dash (1:05.19).
Senior
Caitlyn Parmelee rank sixth in the 1,500-meter run (5:04.29) and freshman
Kelsey Ryan was sixth in the 5,000-meter run (19:43.70) and earned the chance to compete in the NYSCTC meet at Rensselaer later this month.
