KENOSHA, Wis. -- Nazareth split two more matches Saturday during the second day at the Wisconsin Invitational co-hosted by Carthage College and Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Golden Flyers downed New York University in four sets 30-28, 30-21, 20-30, 30-14. They later were beaten by host Carthage in four sets 28-30, 32-30, 30-22, 30-25.
The Golden Flyers have now completed their regular-season schedule with an overall record of 14-12.
Against NYU, junior
Hans Schroeder had 15 kills against just two hitting errors in 23 attempts for a .565 hitting percentage to go with seven assisted blocks. The Golden Flyers also got 13 kills and six digs from junior
Chris Mendez and 10 kills from freshman
Robert Kraft. Junior
Ellis Walsh had seven kills in 12 attempts and 11 total blocks. Freshman
Dan Mowery had a match-high 15 digs.
Schroeder added 19 kills against 12th-ranked Carthage to go with 11 digs and four blocks. Mendez and Kraft each had 10 kills, Wells-Spicer had 53 assists and Mowery had 17 digs.
