ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nazareth's indoor track and field teams opened their season Saturday with competition at the Cornell Relays.

Graduate student Robby Castor was one of the top performers for the men's team as he finished 11th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:12.83. Sophomore Dan Polino finished 16th in the triple jump with a leap of 12.24 meters or 40 feet, 2 inches.

In the women's meet, Nazareth had a handful of competitors in the 5,000-meter run. Sophomore Michelle Gillette had the top finish with eighth place with a time of 19:41.62. Next was freshman Kelsey Ryan in ninth place (19:51.90); junior Samantha Hickok in 11th place (19:59.73); and junior Sarah Wilcox in 12th place (20:03.30). In addition, Emily Irish finished 19th in the weight throw with a distance of 9.68 meters or 31 feet, 9 1/4 inches.
