After trailing by 10 points, 32-22, with 4:29 remaining in the first half, the Golden Flyers went on a 12-2 scoring run to tie the game 34-34 with 14 seconds left in the half. Over the next four minutes, the Yellowjackets chipped away at the Golden Flyers' lead, and claimed a 49-48 lead following a three-point shot by Bill Serle at the 10:36 mark.

After trading baskets, Rochester took the lead for good on a two-point jump shot by Milan Moncrief with 7:52 to play in regulation.
