LANCASTER, PA - After an 0-2-1 result on Saturday that ended in a draw against University of Delaware, the Nazareth men's rugby team got a shot to redeem that draw first thing on Sunday morning.
Pool play results pitted Delaware against Nazareth again in Sunday's first match. This was another hard fought, back-and-forth, evenly matched competition. Delaware, now becoming a friendly rival for the Golden Flyers, earned the tough victory, 21-14.

Nazareth's second opponent on Sunday was Curry College out of Massachusetts. Craving a victory, Nazareth played outstanding team rugby in this one. Excellent defense by the Golden Flyers led to outstanding ball control on offense. Nazareth went up early and never looked back.

Great team rugby continued for Nazareth in its sixth and final game of the weekend. Their opponent; a tough Christendom College team out of Virginia. Nazareth turned up the dial in this one. Even better defensive pressure turned into turnovers. The offense of Nazareth in this game was described by general fans and other teams as, "Beautiful Rugby," and so it was. Nazareth with an impressive win. Jacob Hernandez scored a birthday try to cap an excellent day for Naz Rugby.

Nazareth finished Frostbite 7s tournament with a 2-3-1 record giving them 9 tournament points, finishing number 13 out of 16. The Golden Flyers continue on their path to the Spring Collegiate Rugby Championship with their next tournament at Monumental 7s in Boston on March 14.
Hard fought close losses and a couple big wins this past weekend give Nazareth a good resume heading into Monumental 7s.
