ORCHARD PARK, NY - Nazareth Rugby traveled to One Bills Drive in Orchard Park, NY on Saturday for spring preseason rugby in the Buffalo Bills indoor practice facility. 
 
Buffalo Rugby Club hosted 4 collegiate men's and women's programs. Alongside the Nazareth Women's Rugby Club, the Nazareth Men's Rugby team played its first competition of the Spring semester. 
 
Nazareth started the day with a tough matchup against St. Bonaventure. Nazareth senior Scrum Half, Owen Barr, scored a try for the Golden Flyers. Ultimately the Bonnie's took the match 17-5. 
 
Game two was a close one against friendly men's rugby rival, University at Buffalo. The game came down to the final minute with Buffalo scoring last to win 15-10.
 
In their third match of the day the Golden Flyers took on Niagara University in a clash of purple. Nazareth played its best rugby of the day to win 3 tries to 1 for a final score of 15-5. 
 
Frostbite 7s Tournament on February 28 in Lancaster, PA is the next competition for men's rugby. It will be their first regular season national qualifying tournament of the semester. The Golden Flyers look to return to the National Collegiate Rugby Championships this spring, competing at the D1a Premier level.
