Strong Day for Men's Track and Field At Conference Challenge Cup

Results 

ROCHESTER, N.Y. On Saturday the Nazareth men's track and field team achieved a 4th place finish at the Conference Challenge Cup hosted at the Golisano Training Center. The Golden Flyers finished with 51 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • David Dobrowolski and Graeden Heichberger went 1st and 3rd in the weight throw scoring a total of 16 points for the Golden Flyers 

  • In the Shot Put Heichberger threw 15.11 meters (49' 7"), claiming a first place finish. 

  • Michael Puglisi acquired a 5th place finish in the 400, coming through the finish at 50.05 

  • In the 60m Hurdles, Aaron Lund continued on to the finals and finished 4th overall crossing the line with a time of 8.81. 

MEET NOTES 

  • Cameron Almy crushed his mile personal best with a time of 4:25.69, his previous time being 4:34.52 and had 2 top 10 performances on the day. He was third in the 3,000 in a personal best of 8:50.77, good for fourth all-time.

  • David Dobrowolski, a now nationally ranked athlete, earned himself a personal best in the weight throw, throwing 18.07 meters (59' 3 ½") crushing his previous personal best of 17.91 meters (58' 9 ¼").

UP NEXT 

Nazareth will travel to Utica for their 2-day meet on Friday February 6/7. The start time for both days is 10 a.m.
